Beer Cheese

Hi, I worked at a place that made beer cheese.
Beer Cheese was not our primary service, lol.
We took a sharp cheddar cheese spread and put
it in a huge mixer and throwed in some cans of beer
and a bottle of tobasco sauce.  This stuff was delicious!
Hic=upp.

Sound interesting.  What would be the exact proportion of a beer and the cheese?  I mean the exact measurement to meet a delicious mixture.

What type of beer went into that?

WoW that sounds great. But dont tease us bro. Give us the type of cheese and measurements or the amount of cans u need per what thanks

It sounds good. Was it served right after being mixed as a spread, or was it aged and hardened?

that sound great!! whats the recipe!!

Well, I did this last night.  I used my home brew amber ale, mixed a little with some store bought sharp cheddar cheese spread.

At first I wasn't too impressed, then I tried the cheese with some pretzel sticks.  Wow!  Talk about a flavor!

I would recommend trying this - I didn't measure any portions specifically, I just took the cheese spread, put it in a tupperware bowl, added some beer, then mixed for about 5 minutes.  The cheese got a little more liquid-like, but that made for easy dipping.

Highly recommended.

So that would be good if you had something to dip?  Aside from pretzels do you have some other ideas to dip?

I tried crackers as well which were not as good - I think anything salty works well...

anyone pinpoint the best formula for this?

I don't have a specific formula for it, but I've made this twice now and had some really good success with it.  I've just been buying the sharp cheddar cheese spread and adding about 1/6th of a bottle of beer to the mixture.  I then mix it together with a fork for about 5 minutes or until the cheese becomes more of a dip than a spread.  That's it!

Adding any tabasco sauce?

Thanks webby. I'll try to experiment it for my own.

I have not added any Tabasco sauce, although I do think it should be added.  Really this is a simple recipe - start with a relatively small amount of beer until you get the consistency you want.  The more you add the more viscous your sauce will get.  I would also add the Tabasco sauce sparingly.

Again, one bit of advice: use pretzels to dip in the sauce - extremely good!

Tried it, it was good with buttery crackers, with tobasco added a kick but the spice was only one demensional, would be nice to have a better spicy option.
