Beer Waffles

Hey guys i just saw this recipe from a sam adams newsletter, we'll have to give it a try!

Samuel Adams Waffles -
by Samuel Adams Founder and Brewer, Jim Koch

A nice little recipe after a long weekend!

Ingredients:
1 cup Samuel Adams Boston LagerŪ - could also use Samuel AdamsŪ White Ale or Sam Adams LightŪ
3 eggs
1 egg white
1/2 cup melted butter
2 cups flour
1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp sugar
1/2 tbp baking powder

I think breakfast just got better!!!

I made these about two weeks ago and they were great! The whole family loved them.
Is there anything out there not enhanced by beer??? Cold cereal maybe but other than that it works for about everything.

Sure I will be making these.

Do you mean 1/2 teaspoon though here?

I imagine its around 1/2 tsp for that much flour, plus the carbonation in the beer will help make the waffles rise as they cook.

I'm going to make those for the first breakfast I cook in new place...once I actually get moved in....

You all are in for a treat! The smell alone will get you.

Just to let everyone know, I tried it with SA White.

Wow that sounds really good.
I'm going to have to try it soon.

Simple beer waffles

I've been making beer waffles (and pancakes) with a simple fool-proof recipe:  Bisquick and Beer.  That's all.  No eggs.  No milk.  You will get a crisp and light waffle that has a great malty taste.  Start with what looks like the right amount of Bisquick (or any other pre-made baking mix), pop open a bottle or can of just about anything that qualifies as beer, and keep adding until you get a fairly thin batter.  Lightly grease (or use an anti-stick spray) a hot griddle.  Cook until the steaming stops.  Enjoy.

I wonder if that would work with pancakes as well?  I don't have a waffle iron at the moment, maybe I should get one.

You can make waffles with beer????  going to have to get me a waffle iron!
