Oktoberfest/Fall

Where I live there are no suppliers of Craft Beers, just the nationally distributed ones....Sierra Neveda, Pete's, etc......anyway even though I live in Ohio it's hard to get Great Lakes Brewing co. beers in my part of the state. My sister-in-law lives about 60 miles away and there is a carry-out that has the holy grail of beers and I always look forward to going down there so I can sample some new beers. Yesterday I was going to try some new ones but went with the Great Lakes 2007 Oktoberfest....good choice.....a nice malty sweet fall beer that compliments the time of year.....I also got a bottle of Hazed and Infused IPA from Boulder Beer Company but haven't cracked it yet......I'm looking forward to trying this year's version of Sam Adam's Oktoberfest also.....I love this time of year......Oktoberfest beers kick butt.....hopefully I'll be able to find a few German ones  before the season's over wink

I heard a rumor that Jim Koch and Co put a batch of the Oktoberfest in an aging cask for special release in the future......hmmm...that sounds really good.....I hope it's true.  It was overheard at the brewey in Boston.  I went to the open house a few weeks ago...good times, free beer.....

had  a couple sam adams Oktoberfests last night... mmm tasty!

i just had an ohio brew the other night. the imperial stout from thirsty dog. i could get in trouble with these. is it wrong that i can drink these imperial stouts like session beers?

While not near the same as the imported Octoberfest I had so many years ago (which is what pulled me from BMG to micros, imports, and now brewing), Bell's Octoberfest is a pretty tasty beer. Just had one and am thinking about walking to the fridge for another.

I was just a beer store in Columbus Ohio (World Market) and they were talking real high on the Bell's but didn't have any and didn't know if they were going to be able to......hot item!!!!

While not a craft beer an old and I mean old standard is Spaten oktoberfest one of the best beers that I  have had and if you can get it on tap you'll want to take the whole thing home with you.
