Samiclaus, why have i waited so long?

I have heard of it before but have never cracked one. What a surprise! I remember reading the recipe in BYOs 150 clones, thinking that looks good, just dont feel like doing a 5 hour+ boil to only get 5 gallons of beer, let alone a stepped mash that will add an extra hour. I think I may do this one, a doppleback that is as smooth as a belgian dubbel. Man this is some good beer and worth every penny.

Anyone else indulge in this, for the holiday?

I have heard lots about it but never had the pleasure of indulging in one. Doesn't that brew have to age for a year?

I feel like every step of the process is a test of patience if you decide to brew a samiclaus.

I hope I can find a store that carries it this winter!

Yeah, and my packy carries the 07, woohoo!

mmmmmmmmmmmm.... just read Michael Jacksons review of this beer. I will definetly be adding this to my list of holiday brews to try this winter. I found some on internet wines but I'm not sure they can ship to MT. Strange liquor laws here hmm Anyway goodluck finding some Brewrob.

Prost!

Are you refering to Samichlaus from Castle Brewery?  If so I was suprised to find a bottle of the '07 at my local 6 pack shop.  Not because they don't sell great beers, but just because I just read the post for the first time this morning and he has a limited selection of great beers.

I decided to pick one up, but at 14%abv I don't think I'll crack it open till tomorrow.  I've already had a few other beers wink

Castle Brewery in Eggenberg- that is the one, enjoy! Prost!

Samiclaus is wicked good!  Smooth as hell, and so flavorful.  Almost want to throw back a sixer, but then I'd be in trouble....
