What I did on easter weekend (picture heavy)

I believe I may have had one of the best Easter weekends of anyone this year. Me and my fiancee went to stay with her parents in Westminster, MD for the weekend. Upon arriving my future mother-in-law had a 12 pack mix pack of Saranac brews waiting in the fridge for me. After my fiancee's father got home we headed into town (about 7-10 minutes away) and went to Johannsons a local restaurant and brewpub. We sat at the already busy bar and ordered a sampler tray. We got 4 glasses, 6 oz or so each for under 5 dollars. And some really good beer I must say so myself! They also had a milk stout on cask available that was awesome (my first cask beer). We headed home had a great dinner and shot pool and such till the wee hours of the morning. Waking up saturday with bloody mary's and a bottle of Brooklyn Local 1 we all then headed to Flying Dog brewery in Fredericksburg, MD. It used to be Wild Goose Brewery but Flying Dog just moved their operation from CO to this facility to cut down costs and because this facility is newer and faster. We walked in the door and after checking our ID asked what kind of beer we wanted. They had over 20 taps and all drinks were free! They also had a english pale ale on cask that was krausened! Nothing was ever charged for all of this. We grabbed a beer then headed to the brewery for the tour. After the tour we returned to the tap room to continue tasting for the next few hours. Each time you asked for a beer it was almost a full glass and they gave great information and listened to your feedback about the beers, brewery, and tour. Towards the end they had a raffle and someone won 2 6-packs of their choice. You could also purchase some beers and they had a growler special. The growler (1/2 gallon) cost $5 and for another $5 they would fill it with whatever beer you liked. I got two to bring home. When you go back they will refill your growlers for $5 a piece. So after almost 3 hours of tasting free beer they cut everyone off.On the way out they gave me enough cups for the beer pong table and a few stickers for my beer fridge. We headed back home, stopped at a great Japanese restaurant for dinner then headed back to her parents place for some more good beer and good fun. All in all I think it may have been one of the best Easter weekends I have ever had!

WOW!!!!  Now that's some blowoff action....holy crap is that thing bubbling away.....those are some great pics man, thanks for the virtual tour...looks like a good time....I go to the Sam Adams brewery open house if I can when they have them....it's pretty cool to see the big boys equipment.  It's not as much action there though, as it's more of a corporate office and R&D brewery.......

Man, I think you just described heaven.  That place looks awesome!  I'm going to have to fly out that way sometime and take that tour.

Thanks for sharing and all the great pics!
