Your Favorite 2008 Holiday Beer
Once again the holidays are upon us and with them come the multitude of festive beers. Thought it would be appropriate to start a thread for everyone to share their favorite one this year.
After multiple samplings My favorite this year has to be Wassail put out by Full Sail Brewing out of hood river Oregon.
Described as the perfect balance of hops and maltyness, I do believe I taste a hint of a belgum yeast strain.
Pours a deep ruby brown with a good 2 fingers of lacy head that clings to the glass all the way to the finish. Aromas of fruit and hops. This brew really has balance hops up front followed by a fruity malt flavor that I swear reminds me slightly of a belgum ale. At 7% AVB this stuff goes down smooth with almost no taste of alcohol.
This brew by far is my favorite for this year I would Highly recomend picking up a 6 pack if you can.
Prost
I love Old Fezziweg Ale. It's from Samuel Adams, and only available 2 at a time in their Winter classics 12 pack. It's just a great beer. This year, I think I'm going all out, or all in to my secret stash.....I put some goodies away as I acquired them, and this is the first year in my first house...so a few toasts are certainly order...I was thinking...Utopias 2007, Westvleteren 12, Chivas 18, and my own holiday ale; a bourbon spiced Belgian ale.....
Right now, Winter Hook by Redhook. I drank a lot of 'em the other night, really good beer. I really can't choose one favorite though...
