Let’s Get Drunk Guys!

Benjamin Franklin, a diplomat, statesman, scientist and inventor, said about 250 years ago, “Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy.” Now if one is not going to learn from a learned man like him, who is one going to take lessons from?
Somebody else also famously declared that nobody really cares if you’re miserable, so you might as well be happy. If happiness can be found in a can, so much the better. Actually the fantastic Mr Franklin was very clear in his mind when it came to finding happiness. Here is a very inspiring thing he said about how to catch the butterfly caused happiness. The good American said, “The Constitution only guarantees the American people the right to pursue happiness. You have to catch it yourself.”
So here goes. If Mr Franklin would have his way, you simply have to put two and two together and find a sure-shot formula for happiness. A can in your hands, and a smile on your lips. Or much better, a grin. Absolutely the best – a laughter. A loud guffaw. What else is paradise made of?
There have been others who have joined The Great Beer Fan Club, and have always been the better for it. Dave Barry, the American author who won the Pulitzer Prize, was part of the ‘I LOVE BEER CLUB’. (We have made up the name of this club, but I’m sure there would be several around, and Mr Barry would have loved to have joined it.) Coming to our favorite drink, Barry was the one who stated, “Without question, the greatest invention in the history of mankind is beer. Oh, I grant you that the wheel was also a fine invention, but the wheel does not go nearly as well with pizza.”

If you want to enjoy your beer without getting drunk, or you want to get roaring, crazy drunk on it – it is your choice. For those who get drunk, so much the better. Learned men have told us something about getting drunk and going to heaven. They say, “When we drink, we get drunk. When we get drunk, we fall asleep. When we fall asleep, we commit no sin. When we commit no sin, we go to heaven. So, let’s all get drunk and go to heaven!” So that’s it. Beer for fun, beer for happiness, beer to get drunk. It’s all there. Take your pick.
