Other Beer Uses

Apart from Guzzling beer at a college party, while your friends chant “chug, chug, chug,” there are other beer uses as well. Let’s take a look.

  • Sleep

It’s not just about passing out. Decent amount of beer can beat away insomnia blues. The hops inside the beer can have a healthy effect on insomniacs.

  • Create buildings

If you read my previous posts, then you would know that there are some houses, and even one temple that are built from beer stuff- beer bottles, mats etc. You can give it a shot and build a beer house for yourself.

  • Relieve upset stomach

When you take a few sips of carbonated beer, your stomach feels relieved- plus, the alcohol reduces the feeling of pain. But beer might be bad for gastritis and ulcer, so take care.

  • Style your hair

If you are having a bad hair day, beer can help you out. Beer is sufficiently sticky to hold down unmanageable locks of hair.

  • Stabilize blood pressure

If your blood pressure is shooting up, take some dried hops and boil them in water. It would be like bitter tea, but will calm your nerves.

  • Cook

One of my friends told me that seafood tastes best when it is cooked in beer. Though I have never tried it, but it seems like a great idea.

  • Polish your antiques

Beer can be used to shine up anything that is made of copper. If you have copper pots or tables, or any copper-made antiques, beer can shine them off pretty easily.

  • Flush your bladder

I’m sure you already know it. Beer is diuretic. If you want to flush the bladder and kidneys (if you have a kidney stone), beer can help you with that. But ask your doctor before taking it, because it might play havoc with any antibiotics that you are taking.

  • For rusted bolts

Simply put some beer on them. The carbonation might loosen them up in just a few minutes.

  • Tenderize meat

Beer is acidic in nature, and this is why it is great to marinate meat.

Alright… so those were the options that came to my mind. Do you have any ideas in your head? Send them over in comments… I’m on a mission to find as many beer benefits as I can!
