Bottle Exploded

OK so I'm learning a valuable lesson on bottling at 1.024 gravity for the ESB. So far I've had 3 22oz bottles explode. I've found glass 6 feet from the bottle. I vented the last 22oz and put it in the fridge(in a pitcher with a towel covering). I have a lot of glass to clean up and I might vent the remaining 5 six packs to reduce pressure. It works well to just gently lift the cap with an opener. At the pressure these guys are at, it takes only light pressure on the opener to vent off gas. I was trying to drink it before it went this far but alas my consumption did not keep up. Damn this moderation! Damn, damn!

PS - So far I haven't broken any of Bernie's bottles.
Thanks
garyson

My ebb didn't reduce any further. So how much DME did you add? I think you use slightly less for 22oz bottles. And did you measure by weight or by volume? Weight is more accurate.

I think I've only had 2 bottles explode- that dang season. We overcharged on purpose, but the yeast is so slow, I don't think we hit the final gravity when we did bottle. This time it's in a keg.
