brewing pressure
hi all, just wondering if anyone knows the internal pressures of glass bottles during home brewing????and if the bottle would break first or the cap??im trying to work it out for a project im working on but cant really find any info or standards online!any help or advice would be amazing, look forwards to hearing from anyone!lol

.5 litre swingtops are rated at about 50 PSI and priming pressure is about 22.5 PSI........regular bottles are probably less and throw aways even less than that......

I don't have any numbers to share, but I do know that bottles vary manufacturer to manufacturer.
The bottles that one would buy at the homebrew store tend to be thicker and stronger, than the brown bottles you can save from commercial beer.
The reason for this is expense. Commercial beer bottles are expected to be use once, while homebrew bottles are expected to be refilled several times. So they are stronger and don't wear out as fast.
All bottles get a little weak each time they are forced to hold pressure. The change is small but it adds up and is proportional to the initial strength of the starting bottle.
