priming sugar and corn sugar

As i've mentioned before in other post my ingredients came with my kit and it came with a 5 oz. bag of priming sugar (dextrose).  I've seen several post on here that mention priming sugar, and then others that say corn sugar, but what i was wondering is are they the same thing or not? and if not do you prepare them the same way?

They are the same and get prepared the same way....

Dextrose

Dextrose (also known as glucose) is a monosaccharide or simple sugar that is about 20% less sweet compared to cane sugar. It is derived entirely from corn, is low-cost, and contains no fructose or lactose.

I don't know the differences between the 2 but Charlie Papazian in his books "the joy of home brewing" warns that the refined sugar can give some off flavors to the beer.  I will try and look it up for more precise information and post it later.
