sealing wax

For decoration of wine bottles, I've bought soft plastic sleeves in the past that you put over the end and heat up.

It's been a while, but I think I used a match to make the plastic shrink.

 

I guess using bottle sealing wax creates a unique appearance. Sold in 1lb. packages. 1lb of wax will coat approximately 65 bottles. Do you think it's more affordable and profitable?

 

Profitable? As compared to what?

 

I think it would be a nice touch when giving a home brew as a gift, but it's not technically necessary, is it?
