Skunky in Bottles?

Heya,
I I brewed some stout awhile ago, and bottled it about two weeks ago. Two of the bottles I filled had a kind of scum looking stuff around the top of the bottle, were there wasn't any liquid. I opened one of these bottles, and inside there was a kind of scum looking film around the neck of the bottle. I poured some, it smelt fine, and tasted fine, but only a little bitter, granted I spat it out. Are these two bottles bad from bad sanitation? And what would happen if i drank it?

Ring around the bottleneck is usually a good indication of infection.  Its not the end of the world and hopefully its just those couple bottles and not the whole batch.

If you start seeing more of them getting this I would suggest starting to drink the beer faster so it doesn't overtake all the bottles.

Its not likely to hurt you.  It may upset your intestines a bit eventually depending on the bug that's in there.  In most cases however, it will just start to effect the flavor and often the carb level gets too high.
So Drink up before it takes over the whole lot!

Good luck.

I think it was just two small bottles, which I filled last minute and didn't clean propperly.

Give it to those people who you don't want to give Christmas presents to but feel obligated!
