Too Hot???
Hey Folks. I started my second batch ever last night (Candian Red Ale), and all's good. One question though. It says "put in warm place for 5 days". So what's too warm?? I live in Nunavut, Canada, so winter is here. The heat is now on, so my furnace room is running at about 35C. Is this too hot for fermentation?
Your furnace room is really 35C!?!?! That's pretty hot and too warm to ferment at. If your house is at 20-22C then just stick the fermentor in a closet somewhere at it will be fine.
OK....does it hurt the fermentation process if I disturb the bucket?? ie: moving it from the hot room to the closet?
No, moving the fermenter won't hurt anything. Just don't shake it too much or you might get foam coming out of the air lock.
If you move the bucket the yeast will know you are still there and love them. Go ahead and move it. I am sure they are sweating themselves to death in that hot room.
