Is Cider "Fruit Specific"?

Hey there,

After reading quite a few posts about making your own cider, and my stomach rumbling for a taste, I was just wondering if cider is "Fruit Specific"? What I mean is, can cider be made from other fruits, rather then just from apples? For some reason, I have this idea that a "Peach Cider", might not taste too bad......
