Mulling Spices



I just found some cider spices as the grocery store.  Has anyone ever used these in one of their ciders?  How long did you let it age?



 

I prefer to buy my spices at the health food store as they tend to be fresher.  You can buy the mulling spice components and make your own.

I've used spices in a cyser (apple mead) and I've also added spice teas when I wanted to add tannins as well.  The spices tend to fade with age.  I'm still fermenting a batch of Spiced Cyser.  Every time I've tried it I think it needs more spices.  I'll bottle it when I'm happy with it.
