Pectin Haze?

Pectin Haze?

So, I've got a cider going, and the fermentation is absolutely done but there is still a REALLY cloudy haze throughout. It tastes fine (needs time to age, but tastes ok) but it is really cloudy.

I have been trying to see what pectin haze looks like, and cant find any pictures. I'll be drinking it either way, but for future batches, I'd like to try to get it clearer and need to know what I did "wrong".

Thanks!

hey adam, sorry it has taken me so long to chime in here. anyways, i would hazard a guess you boiled the must at a full boil, thereby freeing the pectin from the fruit. in the future, just warm the must up to dissolve any additions. full boil is not necessary, since you are not worried about hop utilization in a cider. if you are adding hops to the cider... go sick, man.

p.s. moved back to boston, so i wont be around to brew with youse guys any longer. had a great time, and good brewing, brother.
