So who made mead today?
Seeing that it's Mead Day and all who made what? Our club had a great Mead Day gathering and made several batches and shared several more.

I started a varietal avocado honey cuvee for a dry avocado sparlking mead in the method champagnoise. Haven't made one of these in a while, and I actually look forward to the tirage, disgorgement and the dosage! Hmmm, what did I do with my wire cage tightened?

My homebrew club purchased 200 lbs. of honey from a local apiary. About 8 of us got together yesterday and made our first batches. There were only a few guys in the club that had experience with making mead.
I used 17 lbs of wildflower honey and D47 yeast. The OG was 1.115. I'm hoping it will go below 1.010.
