What Container to use

I'm planning on using my plastic 6.5 gallon fermenter that I've used for 4 batches of beer. It's now slightly discolored, and has a 'skunky' odor, probably due to the hops. Should I be concerned about using this bucket, or just go an get another 6.5 gallon fermenter from my LHBS?

As far as juice goes - my local Giant Eagle grocery store has gallon jugs of pasteurized, unfiltered cider for $4, so I'm planning on going with this. Is this a good choice for a first cider? Also, some people recommend extra sugar at fermentation time (1 cup per gallon or so). Is this necessary?

One last question - aging. Some things I've read recommend aging for 3 months, others say ferment, bottle, and wait 2 weeks. Is there really such a big difference, or is this up to the yeast, juice, etc?
thanks

It's been a while since I used a plastic container, but if I remember correctly I filled it with water and some baking soda and let it sit overnight to get rid of odor. Have you tried that, miguel?
