3 Gallon Cornies

In order for me to ad some taps to my keggerator I need 2 - 3 gallon cornies.  Can you help me out?

I'm with you on this one--I've been looking for some to--the problem is I've only seen them brand new at $100+ a piece.  Its funny how you can find 5 gallon for $30 or so reconditioned, but you can't get ones smaller for the same price or less...

Do you think a 3 gallon cornies are a convenient size? I can bottle half and keg half. I don't drink too much, but I also like having a good selection of beers on tap. As for 3 gallon kegs costing more is because their are not as many made. What do you think?

Odd size (2.5 & 3 gallon) kegs are hard to find and very expensive.

Well 3 gallon kegs were only used for a specific soda product when they were made I believe.  Finding used ones is rare and hence even if it's used it usually commands close to the price of a new one.  5 gallon kegs on the other hand were very widespread and used by all soda companies at one point.

The 3's were used a lot by A&W, they still use them in a lot of their stores.

I got 3 gallon kegs from an old friend who no longer brews (he's getting married soon).  I was lucky enough to get 5 for $10 dollars each.  They work great, and are wonderful to cask condition half a batch, and force carbonate the other to see the difference.
