Some types of fire extinguishers are filled with some type of dry chem.  But there are CO2 extinguishers for class B and C fires.  Class A extinguishers are filled with water, classes B, C, D, K and most others are usually filled with dry chem, and ABC extinguishers are almost always filled with dry chem that can be difficult to clean out.

Fire suppression is the field that I work in, though usually it's fire sprinklers not extinguishers.  Here is a link to a site with more info on extinguishers: www.fire-extinguisher101.com

i also work in the field of fire suppression or at least did i worked for a extinguisher and resturant cooking suppression systems this is how i found the co2 and also will have more on the way
