I went to my local homebrewshop looking for time also. They were out.

It is right behind their supply of styrian goldings, or was that saaz?
I tried to get mine on-line, but couldn't qualify for the free shipping!
I just found a 10 gallon rubbermaid round drink cooler with the false bottom for $80.00. Anyone know how that price stacks up?

What kind of false bottom......plastic or stainless???? I would recommend getting one with a stainless one.......don't forget you will need a HLT and sparge arm also.......you can try and sprage without one but it will lead to channeling and if your going to batch sparge you would be better off with square tun and braid for your bottom..........
It is a plastic one but I figure if it gets crushed I will buy a stainless one. I plan on buying another round cooler for the HLT and probably making a sparge arm or buying one from the web. I am getting a commercial keg from the local beer distributor and already have the burner from my turkey fryer so other than a trip to the local hardware store for some plumbing I should be in business. The cooler also came with a large filtering disk that goes over the false bottom . The disk is about an inch and a half thick.
I could not find a ten gallon round cooler locally so after looking on line and finding prices between 49.99 and 79.99 plus shipping I figured this was not a terrible price. The false bottom is also plumbed to the outside so that helps some.
