Cleaning Oak Barrels
I haven't found one yet, but I'm trying to find a used oak barrel because the new ones are so damn expensive. In the event I do find one, does anyone have a technique they use to clean them that they would like to share? PBW on wood?
It depends what was in it last. Burbon or red wine??? I'd just brew up a 1070OG highly hopped ale of some sort and let it condition right on top of that stuff.
I saw in a recent BYO (I think) how to care for a barrel. Maybe a quick google search.
