Electric Brew Kettles
Any one ever used one of those electric brew kettles?
Saw a bunch at High Gravity home brews web site. Pretty spendy, but you can buy just the heating elements ($50) as well. Looks like the element sits in the actual wort. Their homade version with a keg ($260) claims that they are limited to 60 min boils due to evaporation loss. They offer nice looking kettles with these burners as well (insert drooling smiley guy).
I was just wondering if anyone has ever used anything like this before, and if so how well does it work. Seems to me you could buy just the heating element and make your own version a lot cheaper.
