Fermentation Fridge
I'm trying to get a rein on my fermentation temps and figure it's about time to pick up a fridge to do the job. I am fairly limited on space so I'm thinking dorm fridge style. I've looked around at some other message boards and people mention Sanyo 4912 a fair amount but I suppose any will do. What kind of dimensions should I be looking for to fit a 5 gal carboy w/ some space for blowoff if needed? Anyone been through this already?
I use a full size fridge but I want to convert it into a kegerator. I was planning to get a chest freezer to replace the refrigerator as a fermentation bay but if the sanyo works I should get that. The only problem with refrigerators is the step where a compressor is in the back. It can make the space a lot shorter because you have to put a shelf in there to accomidate the depth in the back.
I use a full sized fridge too. My house fridge died... Freezer side still works as it's supposed to, but by some miracle, the fridge side only cools to about 50 degrees... LOL My husband accused me of sabotaging the thing so I could have a lagering fridge
