Friday the 13th hit a day late.
I don't exactly have enough room in my house for a keg setup, so I've been using TAD for a little while with good results. That is until last night.
I have a porter that I put into the TAD bottles (I use the 6 L plastic ones) so I could dispense with nitrogen. Last night one bottle kicked, so I went to switch the tap to the last remaining bottle of the porter. I got everything all set up, and screwed the gas cartridges in. All seemed well. No drips or leaks of any kind. When I returned to the fridge to pour myself another glass of porter, which had just recieved rave reviews from a buddy earlier in the day, I found about 3L of beer from my last bottle on the kitchen floor. I don't know what happened exactly, but somehow the lever that controls the flow of beer had forced its self open and began to drain my porter into the fridge and onto the floor. About half the bottle was gone by the time I caught on. It was quite a mess. I know I checked the lever before I shut the fridge door, but I guess for now on I'll have to keep an extra close eye on it. And to top it off, I lost one of my AHA pint glasses that morning when my wife was doing dishes. Something banged against it, I guess, and it broke.
I would've expected this kind of luck on friday, not on saturday. I guess friday the 13th took an extra day to catch up with me.![]()

Yea, i'm sure it was an accidental break. Wives by nature hate when we are having a good time without them. So keep everything away from them that you don't want broken.
Ha ha ha
And just how many porters had been consumed before this happened??? ha!

Unfortunately not many. I had two when my buddy was over, giving me a hand with picking up a new oven for the house. That was early in the afternoon. The incident occured late in the evening, around 9PM or so. I was pourning my first one for the night when the bottle kicked. I only got about 1/2 a glass out of it, which I drank before retuning to the fridge for a full glass. That's when I discovered the mess.
Gosh! I would SO MUCH love to comment on this situation, but being such a Newb I better not, as many of the terms in use are new to me, and I would hate to look totally "out of it"! imp
