Goodies, goodies, and more goodies.....
I must be crazy buying so much stuff......I'm pretty much ready to go full bore now. I'm just about finished building my new chiller. I just have to make a few adjustments, and find a way to add legs to keep off the bottom. I got my B3 shipment today, with a new pump and fittings, some of that funky silicon tubing. I say funky because it kind of looks like a set of intestines....if you think in a morbid way. A couple of fermometers for the buckets, a new thermometer for the mash. I've rebuilt my mash tun as well. A new Barley Crusher, and wow what a difference. I was getting everything round way too fine. Now my sparges should smooth like butter....
Of course, all this with freezing temps setting in. I was going to brew tomorrow, but next weekend should be a little warmer, maybe in the 40s. That will give me another week to finish the design to hook it all together.....
Never crazy to invest in the joy of brewing. What kind of grinder did you buy? I am looking into getting a new one.
Did you have a brew session this past weekend with the new equipment???
No...unfortunatly, I pussed out with the cold....Saturday was so windy and cold, and yesterday I was out the Pats game. I'm a little dissapointed...Friday and Saturday look to be a little better, so I may do it then. I'm starting a new job today, so I don't know if I'm working on Black Friday; if not I'm brewing for sure.
My new wort chiller is pretty much complete as well. I guess the word Monster is a good description. I just have to finish the legs to keep it off the kettle bottom, and also make one adjustment for ease of use. but it's pretty much good to go....It will probably take a little bit to setup and test all the new stuff, but it should streamline everything quite nicely......I'm still working on the tutorial I made up. I took some good pics, and just have to get to HTML and uploaded somewhere....
