GROWING HOPS
Just a quick note.....I seen that MoreBeer has some more rhizomes in stock in anyone is still wanting to try and grow some hops this year.....I know that most other places are out.....
GOODBREWING........
Thanks for the MoreBeer update, I may need to replace my Willamet with something if I can't nurse it back.
Just a note, I did get my trellis up and situated this past weekend. I haven't been able to post any pictures yet as I am having problems with my pc at home. Seems I have picked up one of those spyware programs that puts some spyware on your computer and then tries to get you to buy a syware removal program to get rid of it.
I have had these before, but this is the first one that actually somehow uninstalled SP2. What a night mare!
Am I missing something here? What happened to the link to upload images?
Webby said something in another post, issues with it or something. use this link sign up and it will allow you to post i the images, thats the way i did it in another post.

These are the best pictures that I can get using my phone. But they seem to be coming along. The first image is my cascade, and the second is my chinook.

Thanks for the link BrewLuva, they aren't the best pics but you can see how they are developing.
Hop update.....the end of June update is coming a little early to show some modifications I made to my hop trellis, something I should of done earlier in the season. I went to Lowe's and got me a plastic barrel, two bags of quikcrete, a 10ft. section of pipe, cap for the pipe, paint, some eyebolts, and twine. I painted the pipe and put the pipe in the barrel with a few tricks I learned in my concrete pouring days, put an eyebolt in the cap and two on my exsisting trellis, strung twine to the pole and put a tie off line to keep the pole straight (sort of like a telephone pole) I also was reading up on how to take care of them and it said to keep the three or four strongest bines (not vines) from each plant and to trim a few feet of leaves off the bottom. So I trimmed back all the extra bines and cut the leaves off the first few feet.......here is some pics......

I reckon we will see how this works in the next week or so, the idea is that I can release the tie off line and bend the pole to the ground and harvest and then put it back up to let the premature cones flower out and harvest again....sort of a portable trellis.
I"LL TRY TO GET SOME BETTER PICS TOMORROW WHEN IT'S IN THE SUN
yes that's a pet pygmy goat in the last picture......he will eat almost anything except for hops....go figure
GOODBREWING......
OK I figure I'd go with the end of June update as planned even though I posted 10 days ago. After trimming up the bines and getting my new trellis in place we got a good amount of rain and they are starting to revive and take off again....I even have a fair amount of cones coming on so I will definitely have to harvest more than once......
They are starting to climb out the string pretty good

SEE YOU NEXT MONTH and GOODBREWING........
