ONE MORE CUT AND I'll BE DONE FOR THE YEAR......http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t291/dartgod1018/addinghops.gif

Those cones are huge!!!

Nice cones!

My hops seem to have stopped growing.  I have a 10' trellis, and one bine is approx 6" from the top, but has been there for almost 2 weeks.  I wonder if the cool nights we have been having have slowed the growth?

I just vacuum sealed my hops....seems like they are about 70% water if you need that calculation for making a wet-hop ale.....I ended up with 2.5 OZ out of 8.7 OZ wet.....I might get another 1/2 OZ when i get my second harvest in......now that I picked the ones that were ready and trimmed everything back the little ones are taking off in a hurry since they can get some sunlight and room now......man do my hands smell good!!!

this is kinda like walking into a conversation halfway. i clicked on the most recent page of this thread and see guys complementing the size of each others cones. gave me a laugh when i took it outta context. or maybe i just need to get some love. *hangs head*

you make me so jealous dartgod, but i have to keep reminding myself that yours have been in the ground for one season already

how long did it take you to dry them out?

About two days.....I just put them on the screen and let the fan do the work...ooh, I tossed them twice a day to get them to dry evenly...

Anyone have any experience growing hops in a greenhouse ? My wife and I have a greenhouse that we keep our potted plants in through the winter. Here in eastern NC our winters are not usually bitter cold. How about the shorter days ??

Mark

The hops grow back every year correct,  And if they come back do they send up more shoots each year?
