I used an air tool dremel.  In my opinion, the best option.  Went through 1.5 wheels, nice clean cut.  An electric dremel wouldn't have the power but if you have access to a nice air tool, you're golden.

Plasma would work nicely I would think.  I used to use one at my old job and the cut was always very clean with little to no splatter.  Acetylene torch would probably be a lot more trouble than it's work, IMHO.

Thanks Bill! I could probably get my hands on an air tool. What size wheel did you use... diameter & thickness?
And how long did it take?

I wish I could get my hands on a plasma cutter, I think that would make quick work of it.

I bet! I've seen some videos of guys trying to use a dremel cut-off blade, and that's just ridiculous.

Dremel makes air tools???? Or are you saying you used an air tool with dremel wheels on it?
Big difference I think.

Big difference I think.

I think it would be a pneumatic cutoff wheel.

thirsty has it..  I use "dremel" as a catch all for an air rotary tool.  Everyone knows what a dremel is and what it does and the air tool is just a beefed up version.

As far as wheel type and size, I have no idea.  I have an air compressor and borrowed the tool from my brother in law; he did it along with me.  Wish I could be more help.  Regardless of what you use, it's not at hard as people make it out to be, just get a cuttin'!

High,
A plasma cutter works real well and is probably the fastest way to go.
Just make sure, you got the keg filled with water, to eliminate pittig the inside with molten metal.

skookum
There is a video on Youtube, where someone had built a jig for the plasma torch.
Think it was called Keg turntable or something similar.
