hydraulic corker
I just used my new Italian hydraulic corker last weekend to bottle/cork my lastest batch of mead, a peach melba. Could it have been easier? I think not! I use both regular and champagne corks, as I did both still and sparkling mead and it did a superb job on both. It worked on even my smallest bottles (187ml) with the aid of a lift and some rubberized shelf liner. It is a great investment into my mead making supply equipment
.
The hand held corker I got when I first started making mead is now a thing of the past!
Yeah, good equipment makes a hobby a real pleasure.
Hydraulic!?! Sounds awesome! how does it work? will you post a picture? I just got a floor corker is it much different? anyway I have a 5 gal batch of mead that I plan on splitting up into 1 gal batches any suggestions? I was thinking three fruits and two spices.

We had really good luck with pomegranate & fresh ginger. I mean in separate meads, not together.
Orange/tangelo is a big favorite of mine right now. I wonder what a deep, mysterious, sweet garam masala would taste like? Maybe with some undertones of orange? Would be good during those dark winter months?
I will see the the boy child will "lend" me his camera (if it still works). I haven't had any luck posting an avatar, so I am not sure I can do a picture. I have tried posting an avatar more than a dozen times but it keeps telling me my pic is too big. It is only 48 x 48 pixels, so I am not sure what I am doing wrong.

I did it. I kept making it smaller and smaller, then it finally took it. ![]()
