Keg problem

I just kegged for the first time using a 5 gallon Pepsi corny keg, with a party tap dispenser.  When I go to pour the beer it acts like it's empty.  Foam and some beer comes out, but mostly CO2.  I made sure the in and out valves were on the correct sides and checked the out tube to make sure it was clear of any obstructions.  Has anyone ever had this problem?

Did you break down the keg before you filled it to make sure there was a dip tube in the liquid side? If so you should get something coming out.

Also pull the pressure release valve to make sure the keg is holding pressure, you may have had a leak in the main lid gasket if not using keg lube. If you have pressure you should get a steady flow, but keep in mind w/ a picnic tap it will be real foamy until the pressure equalizes due to the short length of serving line the beer dosn't have time to lose pressure. If those things don't work, depressure the keg, remove the dip tube and make sure that is clear too, not sure if that is what you originally meant or if you meant the opening for the posts. Either way after the first pint or so it should flow smooth with something at least beer or foam.

I took the dip tube out yesterday, there is nothing blocking flow.  It's definitely holding pressure. It just shoots out mostly CO2 and a little beer along with it.  I dialed the pressure down to around 2 psi and that gave me the same problem just with a little slower flow.

Maybe the gasket is missing from your dip tube or you didn't jam it all the way back into place.  I would take the "out" post off and double check.

I believe you nailed it.  I have the gaskets in the wrong place.  When I put everything back together I wasn't 100% sure where the gaskets had been.  I put them around the outer disconnect screws.  I can't wait to get off work and pour a cold one.  Live and learn.  Thanks.

With you there brother, 2 more hours left!

Nice catch on the gasket thing! Makes sense. I'm still tweaking my keg system but got it dialed pretty good.

I work from home, and the door behind my desk leads to the garage where two taps sit ready and willing off the side of my fridge. Can you say "WILL POWER"!
