Line Cleaner

Has anyone used a cleaner specifically for their keg lines?  I have never used one, but am wondering if so far I have just been dodging a bullet of nasty lines...hmm

What I have been doing is sanitizing my keg with OneStep, pressurizing it and sending it through the lines, and then leaving it for a few minutes, then draining it completely.  Just wondering what other people do to clean their keg lines smile

When I finish a keg, I wash it out thoroughly, then fill it to the brim with warm water, close it, hook up the gas and run the warm water through the lines.  Then, when I am ready to refill it, I fill it to the brim again, this time with the sanitizer, close it, hook up the gas and run through the lines.

This way, I don't leave it sitting with sugary beer in the lines in between uses.  And, I have sanitizer and water sitting in it while I am waiting for the beer to carbonate.  When I tap it, I pour off the first little bit which has sanitizer in it, and then drink the next glass.

So far, I have new looking lines, and have never had residue stuck in them, or had to replace them.  And, it uses such a tiny amount of the gas as long as you are filling to the brim.

I heat up 10 gallons of water to 170º, split it up into a PBW keg and a rinse keg.  the beer in the line gets run into an ice cream bucket, then tossed, and then I pump PBW for 10 minutes per line, then pump rinse water for 5 minutes.  by the time I'm done with all six lines, I've lost 70º, but 100º pbw still does a nice job...

The only time I've had to clean my lines is after I made a batch of honey beer and I used WAY too much honey. It was undrinkable. I let it sit in the lines for days and any beer I poured after that had a killer honey taste.

I disassembled the cobra tap and soaked it overnight in a pitcher full of Straight A and water, then next day I soaked it in Star San and that finally did it.

There are many ways.

Run beer line cleaner into lines, let soak 10-15 minutes, rinse twice, done.
