March 809 pumps
I didn't want to hijack another thread on march pumps so I started a new one here...
I'm planning on building a single tier rig so I can keep on brewing even with a bad back. I can't wait until I can brew on my own and don't have to wait around until someone is available to do my lifting for me. I've been looking into the March 809 pumps but I've found a few different ones. Are the ones with the plastic housings and hose connectors preferred over the ones that have bronze parts? I've seen 2 different models that use bronze: one with a bronze impeller body and the other with a plastic body but bronze tubing connectors.
When using one with a plastic housing be careful if you use metal fittings on it.......it's easy to strip the threads......I bought these connectors for my hose.........I'm eventually going to get a stainless housing with Tri-Clover fittings and change my whole system to Tri-Clover fittings.......

I've been looking for the ones with plastic housings and know I'd need to use the plastic fittings. I haven't been able to find any of those on the cheap but I have found ones with bronze housings. I missed out on picking 2 of them up because I wasn't sure how the bronze housing might impact the beer and someone else ended up grabbing them. For future reference, are they good to use and is there anything to keep in mind when using them?
I'm currently using 1/2" brass unions with a 1/2" brass barbs on my 809 pumps, as for temp, there rated for around 180 degrees.....
