oxygenation..
Any better ways to add o2 to your primary before pitching the yeast than just shaking the carboy? I keep reading about doing that, but it seems like a great way to lose a carboy...

I purchased an oxgen regulator and my local brew shop.
I use the red 02 bottles. U can buy them at Home depot
just about any hardware store. I have great results from
it. I give each 5gal batch about a 30 sec shot.
Or I used to chill the wort below 70f. Then splash the
wort into a plactic bucket then use a funnel into the carboy.
That worked ok.
