Wort coolers
was wondering if you can get the wort to cold when cooling?
you can get it cool enough that your yeast may not start to ferment right away.
(depending on yeast)
Leaving it to get back up to room temp. should fix that though.
I'm a newb though, so I don't know much. Just going by research.
Marv.
Seeing the cold break after never having a wort chiller is pretty sweet.
Cooling too far is fine, I do it on purpose for an ultra light lager or ale, then I will put into a fermenter let it settle, rack off the break bring to ferment temp and pitch.
