2009 BKB Spring Community Brew Vote

Okay, so here we go again......

Fruity Wheat = 0
Saison = 0
Maibock = 0
Pale Ale = 0
Witbier = 0

I'll start off the voting....I do enough Wheat ales on my own, than to do another for this...I'm waiting to get my hands on a vial of WLP410 for a Witbier.  It's available in June though...Maibock sounds interesting, and I always love a good Pale Ale....And the MA Brew Day Saison was spectacular!   Okay...here goes...

Fruity Wheat = 0
Saison = 0
Maibock = 1
Pale Ale = 0
Witbier = 0

Copy, update and repost with your votes!

I just got done making a peach wheat but I can't even taste the peach. I made a wit last spring. Maibock sounds ok but I think it needs a lager yeast and some of us might not be able to do lager temps. So I'd go with Pale Ale or Saison. I'm voting Saison.

Fruity Wheat = 0
Saison = 1
Maibock = 1
Pale Ale = 0
Witbier = 0

DC

I think we should stick with an ale that's easy enough and can be brewed extract or all grain.  My vote is for American Pale.

Fruity Wheat = 0
Saison = 1
Maibock = 1
Pale Ale = 1
Witbier = 0

I second the American Pale Ale.

Fruity Wheat = 0
Saison = 1
Maibock = 1
Pale Ale = 2
Witbier = 0

I love a good Saison, but controlling the temps can be a chore, and I havn't done one for that reason, I just don't have the capibility to slowly jack the temp to 80f.   Pale Ale  would be great, as I have only made 1 before. I vote pale ale.  Plus I have about a half a pound of glacier hops to use.

Fruity Wheat = 0
Saison = 1
Maibock = 1
Pale Ale = 3
Witbier = 0

Okay...I'm jumping ship....from Maibock to Pale Ale.  After reading more about it, and my inability to control temps as well as may be needed......not a very good lager style brewer yet....soon, but not in time for this session.  So, updated goes like this....

Fruity Wheat = 0
Saison = 1
Maibock = 0
Pale Ale = 4
Witbier = 0

WHat about Webby's Kolsch?

I love pale ales, but have never done a Kolsch, so I am adding one to the ballot smile

We did a Kolsch for last years BKB Spring Brew....looking for something different this time around I think....

American Pale Ale, one of my favorites, & knowing you guys,  I'll get moved out of my comfort zone into something really cool.

Fruity Wheat = 0
Saison = 1
Maibock = 0
Pale Ale = 5
Witbier = 0

I'm going to give this community brew a whirl and I gotta go with the Pale Ale favorite so far.

Fruity Wheat = 0
Saison = 1
Maibock = 0
Pale Ale = 6
Witbier = 0

Fair enough. My vote is for the Pale Ale

I'm in. I'll put off my heather ale and go in for a pale ale.

Fruity Wheat = 0
Saison = 1
Maibock = 0
Pale Ale = 8
Witbier = 0

Who comes up with the recipe? A Hopheads pale ale and Mine would differ slightly. Not that I don't like a good hoppy pale ale but I definetly think you can go overboard. I generally like to taste the different flavor characteristics of different hops not be blown away by IBU's.

Once a style is voted on, one or more people will offer up a recipe to at least get the ball rolling.  Then we can discuss it, tear it apart, make changes to, etc until it something we're all happy with.

Well, I've got a pale ale bottled already, but it's one of my favorite styles.  So I guess that's gonna get my vote.

Fruity Wheat = 0
Saison = 1
Maibock = 0
Pale Ale = 9
Witbier = 0
