Hey Yall!!
i am getting ready to make My "Blue moon Clone" Saturday, But I want to Change it!! I havea made the Clone Recipie once Before And it was great!. DO you guys know of anything else I can add to it? Like a fruit or something. Something to make it my own!!!
Thanks
Post the clone recipe. Without seeing it, I would add:
1 lb Belgium hard candy
orange peel
grains of paradise
This is a Belgium white I did a year ago and it was great!

I usually don't see hard candy in a Wit. Not saying it wouldn't be good, just saying I usually don't see that. I haven't done enough experimentation with sugars to know for sure, but I've heard if you are using the light candy sugar, it's the same as using regular sugar, only more expensive. It shouldn't really contribute to the flavor of the beer either, unless you use a whole lot. I've only used the newer dark candi syrup and it definitely added flavor, so who knows.
The orange peel and grains of paradise sound good though. If you have the time, use real fresh orange peel (just the zest and none of the white pithy part).
You could always add fruit to the beer or maybe use more citrusy aroma hops. In the end, it really depends on how you want to change the beer.

Good call. I was not sure what I was liking in the BW I made was the sugar or the grains of P, but it was good (honestly still the best beer I have ever made). Previously I had used (and have used since) the dark candi in the hard form and that has a lot of flavor ad to it. I guess I assumed the light would have the same kind of effect.
When you said use "regular sugar" you are not talking about table sugar right? I am assuming you mean sugar Kaine or something.
I already have orange zest and corriander seed, I really just didnt know what else would go good with those tastes. I was thinking Cherrys, or limes or lemons, or some other type of fruit.I just want a hint of it in the taste.
One more thing, What Exactly is "GRains Of Paradise"?
Good question:

I love wikipedia
How about a little lemon? Either chop up about 5 or 6 lemons and add to secondary, or garnish your glass with them.
I love lemon in my wheat beers.
Funny, I was just talking about grains of paradise this evening. It's from the pepper family, but it doesn't really taste like pepper. It's fairly strong though, you'd probably only need half of whatever size the bag is they usually sell at the shop. I haven't used it a lot, but I hear it takes a while to really come out in the beer, so aging the beer might be good.
Putting lemons in the beer sounds good too!

I think the easiest way to experiment without getting too crazy is to use a different strain of yeast. Try an irish ale yeast, or a hefeweizen yeast (if you arent already)... different yeast strtains can really make a difference.. some can add citrus overtones.

I have covered this before. Using different strains in the same recipe makes a big difference. As I have stated many times, I brew 10 gallons and I ALWAYS use 2 types of yeast. The same recipe with a new yeast can make a world of difference.
I brewed my IPA using both Wyeast 1056 and WL001. The White Labs wasn't great with this batch, but the 1056 was really good.
