Brewing Book List

Hey guys, just FYI, I put together a list of books. Tried to do my best to form a large collection but could have missed some gold. The text list is at the bottom!

Nice work, and good for the cause also.
Suggestion- "The Compleat Meadmaker" by Ken Schramm

My sister just got me homebrew favorites for my B-day present,  4 months to late, and looking through it there are some good looking recipes in there.  Don't think that I'll ever brew the garlic pale ale but there are some that I really wanna try now and some that I'll modify a bit and use for inspiration.

great book

Very nice!  I suggest something similar for wine as well as mead.  Brewski's suggestion is a good one for mead.

Nate:
Maybe you would want to make this a sticky.  I know its up in the menubar above, but this post is more likely to drive traffic to the links.

That's quite the list.  I'd also add:

Beer: Tap Into the Art and Science of Brewing, Charles Bamforth
Standards of Brewing, Charles Bamforth
The AHA's Winner's Circle - 10 Years of Award Winning Homebrew Recipes
Zymurgy: Best Articles and Advice, Edited by Charlie Papazian
Homebrewing for Dummies, Marty Nachel  (It's actually not a bad beginners book)

Under the Brewing Business Books, I suggest adding:
The Brewers Association's Guide to Starting Your Own Brewery, Edited by Ray Daniels
Beer School, Steve Hindy & Tom Potter
Brewing Up a Business, Sam Calagione

I do have a few suggestions.  First, I think it would be better organized if books were listed according to editors/writers last name or alphabetically by title.  Secondly, I think it would be helpful to create a separate category for recipe books.  The list already is pretty extensive and crammed together and a reader can easily miss something scanning over it.  Also, I think having a "Beer Culture" category would be an interesting addition.  I have several interesting books relating to beer but aren't necessary brewing books.

Other than that its a good idea.  Good work on trying to update the site.

Not the singer, the other Michael Jackson.
I have a book by him, I think it was called "Beer".  Pretty good info on all the different styles of beer from around the world.  It does make you want to try each and every one though, so it could cause empty wallet syndrome.

probably the "great beer guide" ? He has written a ton, my favorites though are "Beer companion" and "Great Beers of Belgium". No one can write and capture a moment the way he could. His descriptors are the best.

Thanks guys! I've added the sticky and will update the book list with your suggestions.. should be useful and great feedbacks in the threads! Need to have a nap now abit too much pear cider last night, should have  stuck to winter ale! hmm

I was just given a second copy of Homebrew Favorites for my birthday 4 months to late.  Both copies are from people that don't know the other exists.  totally different parts of my life and I get the same book for my birthday on the same weekend 4 months late.  wierd.   Anyway If anyone wants to trade books I'd be happy to.  PM me if you wanna trade.
