Brewing in Seattle Take II
So everyone has directions right? I sent out the PM's.
my celly is four-2-five-four-1-8-four-1-8-three if anyone gets lost or drunk along the way.
A fun day was had by all! Let's get some of those pictures posted.
had a great time folks. we should definitely do it again.
if eric's family can put up with us, we should try to do a semi-regular brew day. maybe do up 10 gallons a month and experiement with whatever recipes catch our fancies.
post them pictures..and let us know when we are bottling.
I'm of the opinion that bottling day IS brew day... we had too much time to sit around last time... I wound up with a 10 PM hangover...
Of course.. more work with beer doesn't mean less drinking.. just more beer 8)

That was a great day. I'll get the pictures posted tonight when I get home. The rest of my weekend was crazy.
The Rye is in active fermentation adn stable to 68. The porter is highly active but fermenting at 77, but shouldn't be an issue. The 1056 works well at that temp.
I'll get the pictures up.
OK, so here we go with pictures. This first picture is of Krausenator (on the left) and a piece of SliDilon's head on the right as the morning was kicking off:
This next picture is of Rubberchrist watching the kettle as we warmed up some steeping water for the Vanilla Porter:
This one is of us boiling the Porter on the outdoor cooker:
Next we have some grill action in between batches:
Now we have me being dared to drink beer......big dare there....
My buddy Aaron came over for the party. That kettle was the beginning of the Honey Rye:
The boiling Rye..........
And finally, the Rye in the fermenters. Lost a bit in the boil.....oh well..
The weather was absolutely perfect. It was sunny and 83. A good time was had by all and about 13 gallons of beer went into the books.
We'll have to do this again for sure!
Thats looks even more fun than I remember.....not that I don't remember everything, sheesh.
