CO2 Regulator Gauge Repairable?
Hello All,
I just got done kegging an IPA and a blonde ale. In the process of moving the kegerator back into the corner I knocked over the CO2 tank and the regulator hit the ground pretty hard. smooth i know.
I have a dual gauge regulator, the 0-1800 psi regulator is now off. (the paper part of the gauge is now bent, and the gauge needle reads much higher than it has been). I guess what I'm asking is did I completely ruin it, or is it repairable?
thanks in advance for any advice.
I don't think anyone really repairs these things. They are pretty simple design, ergo designed to be replaced.
Getting a new high pressure gauge is cheap ~$20. Just be sure you know if its a left hand thread or right hand thread. Some times the back of the regulator will have and RH or LH stamped on it at the port for the gauge.
thanks brewchez. I didn't realize they were so cheap. I picked up a new one for 10bucks.
bending the metal backing. back into place did not fix it.
Same exact think happened to my tank gage, think someone knocked it, causing the dial to misread/stick. I tried to take it apart but it looks like the gages are two halves that are tack welded together or possibly compression fit. Either way I had no luck with it, and new ones a pretty cheap.
