Community Brew Part Deux!!
That is exactly why I think we should do something interesting... you can always make an IPA, but how often can you bring the collective heads of a forum like this together to create something totally new? There are so many recipe ideas to be shared here.. I really think we could make something great!
The community brew should not just be about brewing any old beer, it should be our chance to get together and do something new and exciting. Having the support system of this whole forum gives us the perfect chance to do something a little different for newbies and the more experienced.
That is just my 2 cents...
Not to throw a monkey wrench in the voting, but here's a suggestion for a spring seasonal: "Cherries in the Snow". I would be very interested in brewing this beer, and since it does not specify what type of ale yeast to use, we could all use a variety of yeasts.
Other than that, my vote would be for the IPA.
how long do we want to keep the vote open? I was thinking either till saturday or monday?
I've thought about that cherries in the snow recipe for a long time now and it does sound pretty good. Some of us might have a hard time finding cherries right now though. I'll have to look and see if I can find them frozen in the grocery store if we decide on this.

Cheers,
ok so i started an IPA last night. i would also like to change my vote to the seasonal. wouldnt mind doin the cherries in the snow, but as maria pointed out, there arent many cherry orchards in Arizona. i love the idea of a maple porter.
my vote could go either way between the 2.
sorry to be so wishy-washy.

Would you be able to use caned cherries?
Cherries are about $2.99 a pound right now, your talking $30 for the cherries.
Still sounds tasty though.
I have a double IPA and a pale in the fermenters right now.
So I'm thinking of changing my vote, I dunno. I would rather do something new, that the recipe was
made here on the board, you guys did a great job building the stout recipe.
How about another stout, say a chocolate stout with a hint of mint.
yup, changing my vote to chocolate stout, or a mint chocolate stout.

Stout = 1
k, Its monday it looks like the winner is the SEASONAL / MAPLE PORTER?, if thats the seasonal we are going with. so start working on recipies, original ones, so we can tweak them into one recipe as a group.

I haven't brewed much, but I'm a hell-of-a cook and can follow a recipe no prob, just may not be too much help for recipe formation:P spose I should go introduce myself in the new people thread now... jsut ahd to jump in on this first!
