enough IBU's

brewed 5 gallons of a wheat today

1oz spalt select hops 60 mins only 2% acid
1/2 oz sterling hops 15 mins last 9% acid
1/4 oz bitter orange peel 15 mins last

used 4 lbs wheat liquid malt extract and one lb of dry wheat malt extract.

is this going to give me enough IBU's...........or should I dry hop?

It wouldn't matter.  Dry hopping does not affect bitterness, only aroma.  Based on what you listed, with a few guesses, that should give you about 12 IBUs.

There's another thread on here recently called "forgot to hop" and that person boiled hops and added them later and it turned out fine. Check out the thread for how he did it. It might be what you want to do if your beer isn't as hoppy as you wanted.

will the bitter citrus add to the IBU's

I highly doubt it.  You can do what you did before and add a boiled hop tea to the beer if you wanted but I think I'd just leave it as is.  Wheat beers shouldn't have higher IBUs anyways.  I entered a wheat beer into a competition this summer and was criticized by a few judges for it being way too bitter.  I think it had 28-30 IBUs at most.

Bottled this a few minutes ago.............seems plenty bitter........of course it isn't finished...........I will update.

Ps I didn't adde anything after the boil.............sometimes I have done this in the past!!!!!!!!!!

I wrote a post about this a while back and didn't wanna confuse!!!!!

TO add to this post.............I did obtain bitterness from hopping at a latter stage.........boiled hops w sugar and rice and added..........seemed to bitter quite well....had many compliments on th brew..........maybe it would have been bitter withiout...but from teh taste and the forgeting to hop I don't see how.

tasted early finished product.................IBU's are fine.................actually could be a bit more bitter but it definatley is a very drinkable beer .........of course just bottled last night but I had to let a few trick or treaters try it out..........kids get drunk fast.  Just joking a little something for the parents.
