Fermenters

Do plastic fermenters leave any kind of taste to your beers? I started with all glass and like it, but I want to do more kinds of beerand I'm limited by my carboys. I want to get more but at $50 bucks a shot I'm stuck, and I don't want to sacrifice taste for more beer.

Used both, don't notice a difference.
And buckets are easier to use,  you just don't get to watch.

I've used both and never noticed a difference.  I don't even use glass carboys anymore.  It's all buckets or better bottles for me.

there are pros and cons to both, If you are doing a lager, you'll probably need a carboy, or a 5 gal keg to keep it in.  I use kegs.   Even though there are both pros and cons, the Carboy cons far outweigh their pros, at least to me.  The first one is that you can never get in there to clean, you need the PBW, and the second is that you have to syphon, I really, really, really hate to syphon, so it's buckets all the way for me.  Better bottles are great, but also very expensive, but if you can afford it they take away the syphoning, and I like that alot.

sorry, I didn't answer your question, Ha ha.  No taste difference, just make sure you get a bucket that says HDPE on the bottom.  (high density polyethylene), and you'll be all set.
