Good Lord! Am I the only beer loving female here?
I think lots of women like to drink beer but I wonder how many have real passion for it? Beer drinking to me is an institution, sure I like to set myself up over the favorite sports game, yell loudly and drink loads of ice cold Amber liquid. But more than that, If I walk into a pub and it has taps with different beers, ales and stouts lined up I just salivate.
Tasting new types, including the home brews is really a great hobby of mine. I like a drop of wine and have been known to sprout quite poetic words about it. But nothing beats that first hit of a good beer followed by an eloquent ahhhhhhhhh! Yep, that's some good s**t.
So tell me if you know any other women who love a drop of the good old beer, or maybe you are one, (a woman not a beer)

Right now you are - but that will hopefully be changing soon!
The only one? That would be making a rather big assumption. I brew only occassionally but am very keen on beer and consume it in preference to anything else. I am still stuggling to find beer I like in Indiana--especially as the bars don't seem to carry much in the way of my favorites, ales, microbrewed etc. But as good NZ/Australians beers are not acrrued here at all I am having to learn very fast and it's a good excuse to ask for lots of free samples ![]()
Well I did mean just here posting in this forum not the only one worldwide hehe. I know I could not lay claim to that.
I hope we get some more women on here to tell us of their brewing expertise.
I'm definitely going to give it a go and now I have a little more understanding of the process it has helped a lot.
Wendy
I knew what you meant... it's just that on forums a lot of women use male or neutral names. It's just easier that way sometimes ![]()
Wendy, why do you assume that you are the only female?
Wendy, add another lady to the list! I haven't always had a passion for beer. I think my passion started at a local brewing company. Since then I haven't looked back!

I wasn't assuming as much as asking if any other women were here and like brewing/tasting/drinking beers and ales etc.
I dunno, I just thought the chat forum might like another topic to chat about.

Sounds great Shell78. I guess my love for beers and such began when the groups I drank with were predominently male and it seemed such a hassle to ask for a bacardi and coke when everyone else was having beer (we always drank in shouts) so I just said Oh get me a beer then.
I loved it and then when I realized there was such a wide range of types my curiosity spiked. My hubby tried a few brews and I did a stout or two, which I enjoyed. I had tasted a lot of home brew from friends and relatives and it always amazed me [precise the process needed to be, but how each persons could taste so different.

Hi Wendy. Perhaps you're the only woman on the forum with a recognizably female name? LOL. Add me to the female beer fan category.
