HELP - Yeast "Slap" Pack Question
In the future I'd pop that inner pouch one or two days prior to brewing and let your yeast propagate and the smack pack swell up. I think the instructions say 3 hours but I don't think that's enough time.
Thanks for the advice. Good to know because I think I'll be ordering from these guys again, and they only use those Activator Yeast packs.
This is a bizaar story Nuno.
I thought the instructions say pop the inner pack and wait for the thing to swell up.
Somehow you read that as, smack the pack, dump it in right away, and add the little plastic bag to the beer?
Your beer should be fine, that inner packet is sterile so it doesn't matter.
No offense, but I think its time to really relax with this brewing thing, slow down and realize its not rocket science, its just beer. I have faith in you! Just keep asking questions.
Kraus has it right however, the liquid in the inner packet is just mini wort and nutrients. The yeast is in the outer bag.
I had an activator pack once that did not burst the inner packet very well . Actually Nuno it was the Newcastle clone we spoke about. Took a little longer for it to take off than my other batches but eventually was fine and the beer was one of my favorites.

I know I know...deep breaths. lol. No, I got the instructions..and it did swell a little because the inner bag had a small break..but not enough for everything to get out. Not biggie...but it seems to be going well.
Update on this batch...SO FAR SO GOOD!!!
Just finished bottling after 10 days in secondary. Had to take a quick taste...and VERY good.
All that stressing for nothing it seems.
A few more weeks and I'll be cracking these open.
As always...thanks for all your help guys!
BREW ON and chill
