Hopp taste
With my first batch I made a British pale ale, I used 1oz cascade in the wort and 1oz in my secondary to dry hopp. At first it had a great taste like a junior Sam Adams, but my last bottle was five weeks old and still great but the hoppiness had faded. What would be another good hopp to use. The recipe
called for what I usedas a pale ale some one told me to dry
hop for British pale ale.

I can only comment on what you posted. Without the recipe, generalizations is all you'll get. They may or may not be helpful.
1. Cascades are typically used for American styles.
2. While Cascades work well for bittering, 1 ounce would barely add a noticeable bitterness to 5 gallons of tap water.
3. Your "great taste" in early stages was more than likely an effect of the Cascade aroma from dry hopping which normally fades considerably as the beer ages.
4. Rather than generically recommending another hop variety, I would suggest using varieties that fit into the style you are brewing and a hop schedule designed to deliver levels of bitterness, flavor and aroma you want.

What yeast did you use? Alot of those English ale yeasts are Hop Mojo stealers. The beer will be fine for a few weeks, then the hoppiness just fades away. It's not the hops, as other yeasts will keep the hop flavor around for a long time.
Try fermentis S-04 for your english ales, and IPA's. With this yeast you will get some esters associated with the English type ales, but it does not steal the hop properties at all. Plus it is a friggin awsome yeast, your beer will be finished in 3-4 days.
