hot alcohol taste

I brewed up a second batch of the community brew coffee and cream porter, but it has a hot alcohol taste.  Kind of like what I imagine rubbing alcohol would taste like.  I am pretty sure it is because the fermentation temp got a little out of hand, getting to about 72 degrees.  I kept lowering the temp controller on the fridge, but the temp on the stick on thermometer on the carboy stayed at 70.  My question is can I expect this taste to mellow out over time?  or is it going to always be the same?

You never drank rubbing alcohol?
I did in college once, very sick-dont recomend it.

the fusel alcohols you are getting will mellow out over time, a nice long rest will probably do it well, might not make it disappear, but should improve. Sounds like you are detecting quite a bit now.You will prolly also get a pretty good headache drinking it green.

never drank rubbing alcohol, but this kind of tastes how rubbing alcohol smells, if you know what I mean.  I didn't finish the glass, so I didn't get a headache.  Its good to hear it should get at least somewhat better in time.
