How Thick Is The Head?

When I first started ordering Guinness in pubs, I noticed the shamrock contour in the head that the bartender would make with the tap.

Someone said that the head on Guinness could actually support a dime. Do you think that's physically possible with any coins, or was it just time for another round?

 

I don't think the foam could hold one, but maybe a larger, flatter coin.  Dang, now I'm going to be dropping money in beer all the time.

 

I've heard the same rumor, but never tried it.  This sounds like a scientific reason to visit the pub.

 

i heard something similar where the head should support a bottle cap.
