i love the quote!!!!!
First of all, lets make this clear, I am by no means a Brew guru, It was the only name that I could think of when I was in work today, and had to pick one fast.
My wife bought me a beer kit (Mr Beer), last year and the results where very good. I had always wanted to brew my own beer, but I remembered 10 years ago one of my friends brewed two batches of beer, one tasted like cider, and the other blew out of the bottle when the top was popped, so this was a great alternative to getting in over my head to quick. I have made about 45 batches of mr beer prehopped no boil kits, All of which where very good, and very drinkable. You are able to add you own pellet hops to this, and fruit, and well, pretty much anything that you like.
I'm getting into the 5 gallon kits now, and just came here to see what it was about. This forum is great seems like any question that I ever wanted to know is here.
My favorite beer is a nice crisp pilsner, or a deep dark ale that hides complicated tastes. like a Mack and Jack's African Amber.
I've traveled alot, just got back from scotland and italy this summer, and can't wait to see if my first (real batch) batch can compare
i've been brewing for a little over a year now and starting to go all-grain instead of extract. what i'm really interested in is lagering and aging in oak. if anyone has any tips for me i'd be much obliged. go packers!

welcome fellow wisconsinite...!
I have been brewing off and on for around 25 years. I started to brew just after we bought our first house. No money for beer. I have been all-grain for about 10 years. My favourite style of beer is an English bitter. Fullers etc... I brew a lot of bitters in the winter and go to the lighter side of ales for the summer. I am all electric in 58L Sanke kegs. I keg my beer also. I love brewing, but hate cleaning. It is nice to sit down in a cozy chair and have a nice bitter though. We have a local malting company that sells me bags of grains, yeast, hops etc. I live in Peterborough, Ontario.

I have been brewing for just a few weeks now. My first batch was just bottled and my second was put in the fermentor yesterday. Cant wait to see how they turn out.
Pale ales are my favorite but there isn't a style of beer that I don't enjoy.
I live in AZ and would gladly welcome any recommendations for how to handle the summer heat when brewing or alternative fermentations that work well at around 80 deg F (cant afford the elec. bills to keep it lower).
- Hello all my name is Sonny Edwards im 35 years old. Im married with two kids and I live in Norfolk Va.
-I havent started brewing yet, however im expecting a kit for Christmas.
-My favorite brews are usually IPA's anything hoppy. I am also very fond of Imperial Stouts, Stouts and Porters.
-Is there an online kit that can be purchased, one that someone can recommend. I have no idea were to start.
-There is a local hobby store that sells brew supply equipment, however they are not very helpful
-I plan on reading every thread one this board, but because Christmas is so close, I need to find a great kit ASAP. Im looking for something about middle of the road. I would also like to buy some 12 ounce Ghrolsch style bottles. So far ive only seen those bottles in 16 ounce and bigger.
Thanks for any advice and I look foward to becoming part of your community!

Williams Brewing has a pretty decent starter kit assuming you already have a brewpot. You can get the kit with or without an extract kit

Also try midwestsupplies.com, good prices & selections.
There is an old saying, " A person's interest in kegging is directly proportional to the number of bottles they have cleaned & capped. "
Besides, using 12oz bottles, you lose more beer than in 16 or 22's.
The only advantage to the 12oz, is that they're free, if you can get people to save them.
hello all. I have been a beer drinker since I was a youngin. I am wanting to start my own home brewery and have no idea how to start one. I also have a unique situation. I work for a railroad and am gone often and have irregular hours.( I'm never home at the same time on any given day) Is home brewing something something that I can do with these hours? thanks to all in advance
